“CELL
PHONES FOR SOLDIERS” AND PATIO CONNECTION KICKS OFF CELL PHONE COLLECTION DRIVE IN TUCSON
Tucson, Arizona, July 22, 2008
Cell Phones For Soldiers began as the dream of 2 teenagers from Norwell, Massachusetts
with $21 of their own money and has had the outpouring of public support that now collects $50,000 cell phones a month through
a network of more than 5,000 collection sites around the country. The proceeds realized from phones donated are used to purchase
pre-paid phone cards and distributed to soldiers to use for much needed connections to their loved ones here in the states.
The Patio Connection in Tucson has a record of supporting charitable causes
in Southern Arizona and now has added Cell Phones For Soldiers to their list.
The locally owned company that for over 19 years has been a Tucson fixture,
will not only collect phones, but will provide a “Free Accessory Gift” to each person donating a cell phone.
The team at Patio Connection feels it’s a great honor and privilege
to support such a worthy cause for more than 150,000 troops serving overseas and away from their loved ones.
Local residents can support the collection drive by donating their old cell
phones at:
